Just finished reading MY BEATING TEENAGE HEART by C.K. Kelly Martin. Wow. It's a powerful book about grief within the hearts of the dead and the living and how the two might intertwine. It's intense in its depiction of the sheer pain of loss so often made worse by hopelessness and isolation-- a reminder that there are times when our only hope is the faith of those who care about us. Beautiful.

              EXPOSED by Kimberly Marcus

              Picture

In EXPOSED, Kimberly Marcus beautifully captures the rippling pain the violent crime of rape is sure to cause -- not just within the inner circle of the rape victim, but within the family of the rapist accused.  Written in verse, it is a powerful, painful reading experience sure to inspire important discussions.  An important book that should take its place alongside SPEAK by Laurie Halse Anderson.
